David Jensen

David Jensen, CPA, MBA

Founder, Executive Chairman

Prior to founding Aviacode in 1999, David was President and CEO of a privately held real estate consulting firm that served the real estate holdings of a number of Fortune 100 companies. He also served as CFO of Administrative Services for Salt Lake County, and during that time filled roles on the Boards of Salt Lake County Fine Arts, Utah Symphony & Orchestra, Ballet West, Utah Opera and the Salt Lake Convention & Visitors Bureau. Earlier in his professional career David was in public accounting with Price Waterhouse in its management advisory services group.

David’s public accounting experience and his work with healthcare organizations provided extensive underpinnings in revenue cycle management, and this experience eventually inspired him to form Aviacode and oversee its coding technology development. David is a licensed CPA and has authored several publications on the healthcare revenue cycle and on healthcare technology solutions.

He has earned both a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting from Weber State University and a MBA from the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah. David enjoys spending time with his wife and four children in the great outdoors.

Lane Monson

President & Chief Executive Officer

Lane joined Aviacode in July 2011 as a seasoned business executive with both domestic and international experience, primarily in the business technology sector. His roles at world-class companies such as International Business Machines (IBM), Oracle, and Infor Global Solutions have helped him build a unique foundation of leadership, growth, process, and operations skills. These skills will help Aviacode continue to improve internal processes, while capitalizing on opportunities for company growth and ensuring continued customer satisfaction.

Lane has a broad background in business applications software, computer hardware, professional services, and in running his own company. He has been recognized for his strong leadership skills and expertise in cross-functional collaboration. Lane also brings experience in integrating acquired companies, teams, and products.

He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Marketing from Idaho State University. Lane enjoys learning, networking with other business executives, and athletics and fitness. He and his wife Mary have three grown children.

Steve Erickson

Steve Erickson, CPA

Chief Financial Officer

Steve Erickson has over 25 years of experience in executive financial positions and public accounting. Steve has helped multiple executive teams analyze and create business plans and financial models and operate according to those plans.

Prior to working at Aviacode, Steve was one of the founding partners of SageCreek Partners, an executive mentoring consulting firm focused on helping companies accelerate growth. Prior to SageCreek he was Vice President of the Altiris Business Unit within Symantec responsible for the successful operational integration of Altiris with Symantec. Steve was CFO at Altiris, a company that went public in 2002 and was acquired for over $1 billion by Symantec in 2007. As CFO, Steve oversaw the process to secure pre-public venture capital, the IPO process, and post IPO secondary offerings. Steve also oversaw Sarbanes-Oxley compliance as well as working closely with the audit and tax teams. Prior to Altiris, Steve was CFO/Controller at a privately held $135 million corporation where he oversaw all aspects of financial management. Steve also has 10 years of audit and accounting experience with Deloitte & Touche and Arthur Anderson.

Steve enjoys the great outdoors and cycling of any type. He especially enjoys spending time with his wife Gina and their three children.

Christopher Marsh

Christopher Marsh, CPHIMS

Chief Information Officer

Chris is a talented information technology executive who has spent the last 17 years solving complex business problems and creating innovative enterprise software. He is recognized for his perspicacity in business strategy, technical operations, social media and managing software product development. He joined Aviacode in 2001 and has been the chief software architect on Aviacode’s flagship web-based application ProCoder™. His vision is also leading to the development of additional products: ProAuditor™, Practicode™ and Encoder Library™.

Before joining Aviacode, Chris developed his leadership at Iomega, Convergys and Vivendi Universal’s MediMedia where he designed medical assessment technology for large healthcare companies such as WebMD, Harvard Health Plans and BlueCross BlueShield.

Chris attended Weber State University where he studied Business Administration and Information Systems. He is a passionate entrepreneur and advises a number of local startups. You will likely find him on the golf course or the ski slopes when he is not spending time with his family. He and his wife Lindsay have three children.

Stephanie Cecchini

Stephanie Cecchini,
CPC, CEMC, CHISP

Vice President, Coding Operations

Stephanie joined Aviacode in 2012 where she continues her commitment to best serve the revenue cycle management needs of physicians and the healthcare community. She is an executive level consultant with significant healthcare business experience. An expert in clinical documentation requirements for coding and billing Medicare, Medicaid and all lines of commercial payer business, she brings to her position more than eighteen years’ involvement in healthcare regulations including: coding and billing compliance, HIPAA privacy, security, and transactions, and HITECH meaningful use compliance.

Previously, Stephanie served as SVP at the American Society of Health Informatics Managers, working to fill the needs of physicians adopting Health IT and at its sister organization, AAPC as VP, Product Management. In prior roles she served as Chief Audit Officer for Parses, assuring physician audit accuracy. As a public speaker and published writer, she is a nationally respected advocate of fair and proper payment for medical services. Stephanie lives in Salt Lake City, Utah with her husband Jim and their three children.

Laman Milner

Executive Vice President

Laman has been a member of the Aviacode executive team since 2001. His responsibilities have included business development, marketing, sales, and customer relations. Laman brought with him over a decade of business development and leadership experience. Prior to joining Aviacode, Laman served as CEO and President of Pacific Southwest Properties Inc. Under his leadership Pacific Southwest designed and developed nearly $1 billion worth of some of the country’s premier properties. Laman was also formerly CEO and President of Advanced Communication & Design, a large communications company responsible for providing cable, fiber optic and computer network solutions to companies such as Marriott, United States Postal System, Sundance Ski Resort and many others.

Laman currently serves on the board of directors for the Utah March of Dimes Foundation. Laman enjoys serving in his church and time with his family. He and his wife Janicka have six children.
